I've got a question for you. When was the last time you celebrated a project you were working on with your team?
Big projects are great until they are not! When we first are told about the opportunity to step into a new project that we are passionate about we are so excited until we realize how much needs done. As you begin to plan out the project by beginning with the “end in mind,” make sure that you build celebration points throughout the plan, and take the time to celebrate each point along the way.
By taking the time to celebrate at various checkpoints, we experience a sense of worth and value as to the purpose of the project. When we experience purpose, we get inspired to take on the next step with more energy and that is where our adrenaline boost comes from.
Most people experience being overwhelmed because they don’t take the time to celebrate along the way and they don’t feel worthy to celebrate until they reach the end. This is when you reach the point where you are overwhelmed, and you don’t feel that you are making progress because you are looking at what still needs to be done versus what you have accomplished.
So, as you work your way through that big project, build in the celebration checkpoints, and don’t forget to stop along the way to celebrate the success!
Let's celebrate!
